Grinagog is an old Devonian word meaning ‘One who grins all day without good reason’

We transported the term ‘Grinagog’ through time, we wanted to provide a festival in the heart of the English Riviera that gave everyone who came along plenty of reasons to grin all day and party all night, and so Grinagog Festival was born.

The concept of the festival is to showcase the best of local talent, whether it’s music, production, artistic or creative and to link it to some of the best visiting music talent from around the UK and the world. We are a truly unique festival that gives the residents of Torbay something they can be involved in and visitors to the area the opportunity to experience.

Grinagog Festival offers something for everyone through its extensive and diverse programme of music genres, arts and activities all designed to bring Grinners together.

The hub of Grinagog Festival is the historic setting of Torre Abbey, which continues to grow as Torbay’s key cultural hub. With an all year round programme of local and world class exhibitions, events and activities across visual arts, history and live performances there really is no better backdrop for history to meet modern culture.
