WHAT DATES AND TIMES ARE THE FESTIVAL (START AND END TIMES)?

Grinagog 2018 will be Friday 20th April to Sunday 22nd April. (Fri: 12noon-3am, Sat: 12noon-3am, Sun: 12noon-7pm)
 

WILL THE FESTIVAL SITE BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC?

The festival site will be closed to the public and only accessible to those with a festival wristband

 

IS THE FESTIVAL INDOORS OR OUTDOORS? AND IS IT WEATHER RELIANT?

One of the greatest things about Grinagog is that all of our venues are indoors. We can therefore guarantee a fantastic festival experience whatever the weather! 

 

IS THERE CAMPING?

As Grinagog is an indoor urban festival there is no camping. Torbay has a large selection of hotels, bed and breakfast, campsites and hostels availability can be checked via www.englishriviera.co.uk

 

WHAT AGE DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO BUY A WEEKEND AND DAY TICKET?

Our adult tickets are for anyone aged 18 and over. You can buy both weekend and day tickets. Valid photographic ID will be required on collection of your wristband. 

16/17 year olds can buy a specific ticket which is valid until 11pm. You can buy both weekend and day tickets. 

 

I’M 16. AT WHAT AGE, CAN I COME ON MY OWN?

Yes, you can come on your own with a 16/17 ticket (and with a group of mates!) however you will be unable to buy alcoholic beverages and you will need to leave by 11pm Friday and Saturday. You can stay until the end of the festival at 7pm on Sunday. Valid photographic ID will be required on collection of your wristband. 

 

HOW ACCESSIBLE IS THE FESTIVAL FOR THOSE WITH VISUAL, HEARING AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES?

It is very accessible! The vast majority of the venues have excellent disable access and there are a number of disabled toilets on site. As everyone’s needs are so different please contact info@grinagogfestival.com prior to the event and we can discuss with you your specific requirements so that we can ensure you get the best possible festival experience.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I LOSE SOMETHING, LIKE MY MOBILE OR CHILD?

If you lose a possession then please contact wristband exchange, we will endeavour to get all lost possessions back to their owners after the festival.

Our lost child policy will be available on our website 1 month prior to the festival. Keep an eye on the website or Facebook page for updates when these are available.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE FESTIVAL GETS CANCELLED – FIRE, STORM, ACT OF GOD?

This is extremely unlikely and the festival will go ahead unless it is deemed unsafe to do so. If we do have to cancel we will be in contact with you about organising a refund. Please note this will be for the face value of the ticket, any booking fee, processing fee and delivery fee cannot be refunded.

 

HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT’S ON, WHEN AND WHERE?

A full programme will be released before the festival starts, you can see lineup announcements on our Facebook page and website. A printed programme will also be available to buy on site.

 

WHAT IS THE FESTIVAL GREEN POLICY (ESP. AS IT’S WORLD EARTH DAY) E.G. RECYCLING, ETHICAL PACKAGING ON FOOD AND DRINK, CLEAN-UP POST FESTIVAL?

We aim to make the festival as green as possible. Recycling bins will be available across the site. Look out for our trader lineup announcements which will tell you more about what our traders and stalls are up to. Travelling to the festival makes up a lot of our total carbon emissions generated. Please travel by public transport or carshare to help reduce this.

 

CAN I BRING MY DOG, CAT, HAMSTER?

Registered assistance dogs are the only animals you are allowed to bring on site. Please don’t bring other animals with you

 

ARE THERE LOCKERS ONSITE?

No. Please bear in mind you will need to carry with you anything you bring with you as we do not have cloak rooms or lockers available on the festival site.

 

ARE THERE MOBILE PHONE CHARGING POINTS ONSITE?

No, as we are an urban site and you do not stay on site overnight there are no mobile charging points available. Please make sure you charge at home or at your accommodation before coming into the festival site each day.

 

IF I BOOK TICKETS AND THEN CAN’T GO, CAN I GET A REFUND?

Generally you can only get a refund if the whole event is cancelled, however, you do have the option to purchase booking protection which allows you to get a refund if you are unable to attend for specific reasons. Please ensure you read the full terms and conditions for this on the basket page. 

will you be photographing and filming onsite?

Smile you're on camera! Our crew are filming and photographing Grinagog Festival (20-22 April 2018) for broadcasts and promotional materials for use by the Festival, Torbay Council, media outlets and associated Festival partners and sponsors.

Please note that you may be filmed and photographed. Pictures of you may be transmitted on television, online platforms and as mobile content at any time in the future.

By entering the Grinagog Festival site and venues, you hereby consent to all such filming/photographing and to unrestricted transmissions of any resulting broadcast, programme and promotional uses.
 
If you do not wish to be filmed, please make it known to the crew.

WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL? WHAT SITES/VENUES?

The festival is being held within the grounds and buildings of Torre Abbey and the Riviera Centre, Torquay.

HOW DO I GET THERE? ANY TRANSPORT OPTIONS, LIKE COACHES TO BOOK, OR DISCOUNTS OFF TRAVEL VIA A CERTAIN PARTNER?

Torre Abbey is just a 6 minute walk from Torquay train station which links to Plymouth, Exeter and the rest of the country from there. We do not have specific links with transport companies, check out train times via www.thetrainline.com. The Riviera Centre and Torre Abbey are well serviced by local buses, time tables can be seen at www.stagecoachbus.com/timetables.

 

WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?

There are a number of car parks locally to the Riviera Centre and Torre Abbey. The nearest car park to Torre Abbey (where wristband exchange is located) is Torre Valley South. Parking permits at a significantly reduced rate for this car park can now be purchased from our ticketing page.

The Riviera Centre has its own dedicated car park. Fees for this car park can be seen at www.rivieracentre.co.uk/parking and there are also car parks on Shedden Hill and Torquay train station both of which are within a short walk of the festival site. Details of these can be seen here www.torbay.gov.uk/roads/parking/car-parks/

The site is also really well serviced by public transport, Torquay train station is just a 6 minute walk away check out train times via www.thetrainline.com. The English Riviera Centre and Torre Abbey are well serviced by local busses, time tables can be seen at www.stagecoachbus.com/timetables. So why not leave the car at home and come and enjoy a car free day.

 

ARE THERE ANY HOTEL PACKAGES?

We don’t have any packages for accommodation as each guests needs are unique. You can check out the range of accommodation available at www.englishriviera.co.uk

 

HOW DO I GET HOME EACH NIGHT?

There are a number of local taxi companies who will collect from both the Riviera Centre and Torre Abbey at all times throughout the festival. Details of partner taxi companies will be released nearer the festival. Please see our Facebook page and website for updates.

HOW SAFE IS THE FESTIVAL FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND KIDS?

We aim to make the festival family friendly. Dedicated family and children’s tickets will be on sale nearer to the time of the festival. Please note that children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged over 18 years at all times.

 

CAN I BRING THE KIDS TO GRINAGOG FESTIVAL?

Yes. Tickets for children aged 15 and under are now on sale on our tickets page.

 

WHAT ARE RESTRICTIONS ARE THERE ON KIDS TICKETS?

Kids aged under 5 are free - but must still hold a ticket - these are limited and must be reserved in advance. You can now buy tickets for kids aged 5 to 15 years inclusive. Children’s tickets are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Please note that children’s tickets are only valid in Torre Abbey Venues from Midday to 7.30pm on Saturday and Midday to 7pm on Sunday.

No Access to the venues within the RICC will be granted under any circumstances for children aged 15 and under. Please also note that all children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

 

WILL THERE BE FAMILY FRIENDLY FACILITIES?

Yes. There will be plenty of toilets at each venue and baby change facilities are available at  Torre Abbey.

WILL THERE BE FOOD AND DRINK AT THE FESTIVAL?

Yes, there will be a variety of food and drink stalls available at Torre Abbey as well as a selection of bars in the venues.

 

CAN I BRING MY OWN DRINKS?

You can bring soft drinks into the festival site with you, however they must be brought on in sealed plastic bottles. Glass bottles, cans and open plastic bottles will not be allowed on site and will be confiscated and disposed of. You are not able to bring in any Alcoholic drinks in any forms. There are plenty of bars on site where both soft drinks and alcoholic drinks may be purchased. Please remember to bring valid photographic ID with you if you wish to purchase alcohol. 

 

CAN I BRING A PICNIC?

Yes, you can bring in a picnic, as above drinks must be in sealed plastic bottles. Please note that you will not be able to take food and drink inside the permanent structures onsite.

WILL I NEED TO BRING ID TO GET INTO THE FESTIVAL AND/OR BUY DRINKS?

Yes! If you are lucky enough to be or look under 25 you will need to bring ID with you. You will need ID to collect your wrist band and we operate a challenge 25 system across all areas of the festival. We only accept valid (in date) photographic ID this can be either a valid passport, provisional or full UK driving licence. In addition we also accept PASS Cards and UK Military IDs. 

 

CAN I BRING MY OWN DRINKS?

You can bring soft drinks into the festival site with you, however they must be brought, in an unopened, sealed plastic bottles. Glass bottles, cans and open plastic bottles will not be allowed on site and will be confiscated and disposed of. You are not able to bring in any Alcoholic drinks in any forms. There are plenty of bars on site where both soft drinks and alcoholic drinks may be purchased. Please remember to bring valid photographic ID with you if you wish to purchase alcohol. 

 

WHAT IS YOUR DRUGS AND LEGAL HIGHS POLICY?

The use, supply or possession of illegal substances and or 'legal'/psychoactive substances will not be tolerated and any person found doing so will be ejected from the festival without refund and their wristband removed.

Anyone found in possession of illegal substances or contraband goods will be refused admission to or ejected from the festival and their wristband removed. They may also be liable for prosecution. Any items found that may be used in an illegal or offensive manner will be confiscated, regardless of whether or not the item itself is illegal.

CAN I VOLUNTEER TO SUPPORT THE FESTIVAL BEFOREHAND OR AT THE ACTUAL FESTIVAL SITE?

You sure can. Please apply at online at Eventree and we will be in contact with the volunteering opportunities we have available. In return we offer a fantastic package including a free festival pass for when you are not working and food and drinks vouchers for during your shifts. Terms and conditions apply,
